I have so many good memories of your mom—and I loved reading this beautiful tribute after making my mom’s cornbread dressing with my sister and cousin. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Donna. The preparation is a lovely way to retain connection isn’t it? Happy Thanksgiving and love to you and all your family.
A wonderful tribute and how wonderful that you carry this legacy on to the next generation. My mother also made southern cornbread “dressing.” She had to learn it from her mother-in-law since Mom came from Germany and had never heard of such a thing. It’s still the best non-recipe I know. Blessings on your family’s Thanksgiving. 🍁
Thank you so much, dear Suzanne. I am grateful and sending love and good energy to you and yours on this and future days. Yes, it is hard but we were so lucky to have them as long as we did. So very lucky. He was an amazing person and everyone I knew who knew him, loved him. Thank you again. Holding you in the light…
Oh, Terry, this is a wonderful tribute to your mother. So touching. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family--I'm jealous of them getting to have this dressing.

What a beautiful tribute to your wonderful Mother. It saddens me that I never got to meet her, and thank her for YOU. Much love to you, and yours, this Thanksgiving.
Thank you, dear Lydia, for your kind reading and comments. Much love to you and let’s finally make that coffee happen, soon! Happiest of Thanksgivings!
Wonderful story Terry. Thanks for sharing! My mother also made delicious cornbread dressing (never in the bird.) I also recall her calling Dad to the kitchen for the serious job of tasting to determine how much more sage to add. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your sweet family!

In tears, Terry. This is beautiful and just what I needed to sit down and listen to, on this first Thanksgiving without my Dad. It’s hard, isn’t it.
